Bring Up Touch—How do we perceive tactile stimuli

We understand that we cannot live our lives without drinking or eating for extended periods. However, we often disregard the importance of touching and its impact on our well-being. For instance, the lack of social touch (e.g. hugs) has led in some cases to the death of several young children. We now understand that touching is necessary for proper brain development. Furthermore, in recent years, we also found that social touch allows for the release of many growth hormones and the stimulation of the immune system. In addition, there seem to be even more roles relating to touch and, more precisely, tickles. One theory proposes that tickles have evolutionary purposes. It claims that it encourages younglings to wrestle while protecting vital parts. What more will we learn about touch? Let’s find out.

Bring Up Fibromyalgia – When pain becomes an everyday occurence

If we try to simplify things as much as possible, we can say that pain is just a seriously uncomfortable event. We can even conclude that pain can, at the very least, be stopped once the triggering agent has been dealt with. Now, what if I tell you that there exist some people that experience pain from, what seems like, unknowable triggers. Would you believe me? I surely wouldn’t. Except that, in recent years, I have developed a chronic pain disorder that made me question my belief. One of the most well-known chronic pain disorders is fibromyalgia. Even though there are currently handfuls of studies exploring the possible cause behind this disorder, still none can explain its nature. There are, as of yet, no apparent triggers but only hypotheses. The only thing possible is to live our lives as best we can and manage the pain that will inevitably occur. Bring Up Pain – Where all of this hurt comes from

It’s hard to imagine a life without feeling, but we can all imagine a life without pain. People would all agree that it does sound dreamy. Without pain there is no suffering, and without suffering there is only happiness and joy, right? Pain experts would absolutely not agree with that statement. They have realized the importance of pain in our life, and especially its importance in our survival. Without pain our life expectancy would significantly drop, making even the success rate of reaching adulthood drastically low. This is because when we injure ourselves, the only thing stopping us from injuring ourselves further is pain. Without pain, we just wouldn’t know what to avoid. Thus, getting to know the mechanistic and origin of pain is a must. This is why I created this article so that anyone could understand. Relying on experiences, we can all understand this complex machine. Now the only thing missing is for you to read this article and enjoy.
